Kenyan iron lady and opposition leader Martha Karua on Sunday 27th September 2026 received sad news about the demis of her father, Mwalimu Jackson Karua. She received sad news while she was on her way to Nairobi. Martha Karua describes her father as her big supporter and motivator in her whole life. “My father believed in me long before I had achieved anything worth celebrating,” she said, recalling his support throughout the different stages of her life.
Mwalimu Jackson Karua had appeared publicly during 2022 general election campaign when his daughter Martha had been appointed to be Raila’s Odinga running mate for presidential position. He had praised his daughter and expressed his belief on her political journey. Martha karua together with Raila loses election but Martha’s struggle behind the courtroom could not be ignored.
