Popular Journalist Sophia Wanuna has finally left the standard Group according to reliable sources. Wanuna who has become a household name over time reportedly tendered her resignation earlier on in the month after working under Standard group for 11 years.
At the time of her quiting, she was the Deputy Editor, Broadcast at the company. Her next move remains unknown as she is yet to issue an official statement.
Wanuna’s departure is undoubtedly a blow, owing to her years of experience, leadership and exceptional reporting prowess across different issues.
She was hosting the political show Checkpoint on Sundays at 9pm. She was also a lead reporter in the Big Story, a show that was majoring on current affairs before it was pulled off air.
Among her many notable achievements on the TV was when she hosted the hot debate between Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and NARC-K leader Martha Karua weeks before the 2022 general elections.
