The police officer who was attacked while on duty in Kasarani, Nairobi has forgiven the teenager who attacked him.This comes at a time when there’s a lot of concern about Ian Njoroge who was harassed and mistreated during his arrest.The police officer decided to forgive Njoroge, after the intervention of former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.

In a phone call recording released by Sonko on June 5, 2024, Ogendo is heard expressing interest in meeting Njoroge’s family for reconciliation and forgiveness.As part of the deal, the family needs to publicly apologize to both Ogendo and the national police service.
