Police in Narok County are currently tracing for a two robbers disguised as DCI officers that reportedly ambushed and abducted Narok Central OCPD Fredrick Shiundu at gunpoint on Tuesday night while heading home.
The suspects later disarm the officer his state-issued Jericho firearm.
Confirming the 10 pm report, Narok County Police boss Kizito Mutoro told the press that the armed men lay ambush for Shiundu next to his home and grabbed him when he knocked at the gate to his premises.
The assailants disarmed Shiundu before whisking him into a Toyota Wish car and driving 17 kilometers away to Tipis area where they snatched his gun and dumped the senior police officer.
Shiundu was later saved by his colleagues who traced his mobile phone after his cried out for help.
According to Muturo, who says he personally grilled Shiundu after the attack, the accused could have shot the OCPD but he was able to plead with them to spare his life.
Mutoro added that police have since launched investigations into the attack,which he says was well-organised sceme while asking the members of the public with any information on the matter to report to the police.
