Earlier, Kenyans were thrown into mourning, especially after general Francis Ogolla died in a helicopter crash in Sindar, Elgeyo Marakwet County. The incident, also claimed the lives of nine other military personnel.
Months after the accident, two officers who survived the accident came out to tell their story, and many were left sympathizing. The two also displayed scars, which explained the painful experience they had after the crash.
Speaking in the reunion, Colonel Kasaine Ole Kuruta courageously addressed his fellow survivors, and he urged them to live boldly despite of carrying scars, and painful memories.
“To my fellow survivor, corporal Karanja over there, we carry scars, visible and invisible. However, we carry more than scars; we carry a responsibility to live. To truly live and live well” He stated.
In his speech, the officer also thanked his wife for standing by him. Kenyans on social media came across his photo, and they flocked to express their views. Below is a few of their comments;
