The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s communications director, Philip Etale, commemorated ten years since the death of his firstborn son, Wendel.

While playing with pals, 12-year-old Charles Etale, who aspired to be a football star, passed away. Wendel passed away from his wounds prior to arriving at the hospital, despite frantic efforts to save him.

It has been ten years since the death of his son, according to Philip Etale, the ODM party’s head of communications.

Etale posted a newspaper piece on Friday, April 25, reporting Wendel Charles Etale’s passing. The 12-year-old got up early on the fateful day to perform errands, delivering milk in the Lugari neighborhood of Kakamega County.

A neighbor requested Wendel to watch her kids while she went to the farm after running errands. Wendel slipped and fell in a house that was still under construction, after she left the kids playing hide-and-seek.

It was approximately 9.30 a.m. My son was playing hide-and-seek with his pals in a still-under-construction brick home.

At the time, Etale remarked, “My boy was swinging on one of the windows when the brick came tumbling down and fell on his chest.”

Wendel was in pain and in and out of consciousness when the neighbors hurried to his aid. The nearby clinic they hurried him to was closed.

According to Etale, the youngster passed away before getting to the next hospital because he was in so much pain that carrying him was difficult. “I lost a boy who loved me.

I am devastated by my son’s passing. I never imagined burying my son. “I thought he would mature, grow up, and eventually bury me,” the distraught father remarked at the time. He was praised by Etale as a dedicated football player who aspired to be the next Victor Wanyama.
