Today markd the final farewell to Lizzie Wanyoike, the esteemed founder of Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (NIBS), as she was laid to rest at her Gatanga home.The somber occasion follows her passing at the age of 72 on January 14 after a brave battle with illness.The viewing stirred emotions among both her family and the students whose lives she touched. The theme for the burial, draped in purple, symbolizes regality and pays tribute to a woman of distinction.Dignitaries who attended the burial included Peter Kenneth, David Murathe, and Sabina Chege. Sabina, expressing her condolences on social media, wrote, “Rest well my friend. You mentored many, and your legacy will remain forever.”

Lizzie Wanyoike’s legacy extends beyond her role as an academician; she was a mentor and a luminary in both education and business.

The heartfelt tribute, read by the college’s director, Allan Njenga, underscores her enduring impact on generations through the institution she founded, NIBS. Today, as we bid her farewell, we honor a woman whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the academic landscape.
