Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has urged controversial preacher Pastor James Ng’ang’a to surrender to authorities following the circulation of a disturbing video online.

The clip allegedly shows the televangelist confessing to taking part in a gang rape alongside eight other individuals.

Speaking on October 7, 2025, Passaris called on the pastor to cooperate fully with law enforcement and identify those implicated in the alleged crime. “If the clip is genuine, he should present himself to the police and help deliver justice to the survivor,” she stated.

The viral video has sparked outrage and disbelief among Kenyans, prompting heated debates across social media platforms. Although the authenticity of the footage is yet to be verified, the alleged confession has fueled growing calls for accountability within religious circles.

Passaris emphasized the importance of transparency and justice, particularly when influential figures—spiritual or political—are accused of serious crimes. Her remarks have intensified pressure on investigative agencies to take swift and impartial action to uncover the truth.

While many Kenyans have commended Passaris for her courage in addressing the issue, others have cautioned against rushing to conclusions, insisting that due process must be followed.

The controversy has reignited national conversations on gender-based violence and the influence of public figures in shaping societal values.

Civil society organizations are now urging the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct a thorough probe into the allegations.

As the nation waits for official verification of the video, the unfolding case could serve as a major test of Kenya’s resolve to uphold justice and protect survivors of sexual violence.

Whether the video proves authentic or not, the public outrage highlights a growing intolerance for impunity—especially in matters involving crimes against women.
