Mystery surrounds the disappearance of Malele Abdi Hassan, a senior National Police Reservist (NPR) officer in Isiolo County.

Malele, who has been serving as a senior NPR officer in charge of the Burat location, was reportedly abducted on December 20, 2025. More than a week later, his whereabouts remain unknown, and no official communication has been made about his condition or location.

According to witnesses, Malele was riding his motorcycle home around 5:20 p.m. when three masked men ambushed him. His passenger, a woman who tried to resist, was thrown aside as the attackers forced Malele into the boot of a waiting car that sped away. Since that moment, the officer has not been seen or heard from.

Ajuran clan chairman, Yessir Adan Mohamud, accused authorities of withholding information. He claimed that police officers later visited Malele’s home and confiscated his official firearm, raising further questions about the role of state agencies.

Yessir condemned the abduction as a violation of constitutional rights, stressing that every Kenyan deserves freedom and due process.

Malele’s brother, Hassan Absalom Barre, has appealed to the government to speak openly and clarify what happened.

The family and community leaders are now urging security agencies to act with urgency, investigate the abduction thoroughly, reveal Malele’s whereabouts and ensure justice is served.
