Kapseret Member of Parliament Hon. Oscar Kipchumba Sudi’s heart is now melting with joy after Kenyans helped him locate an ailing man who has been paralyzed and bedridden for the past 25 years.

The story began when Sudi appealed to the public for information about Tendenei, who suffered a severe stroke that left him paralyzed in Kaptumo village, Kipsomba ward, Uasin Gishu County.

Living with his wife and seven children, the family had struggled immensely with no reliable source of income, as Tendenei remained confined to his bed, unable to leave his home for over two decades.

Kind-hearted Kenyans responded swiftly, helping locate the family. Sudi personally reached out to Tendenei, listened to his urgent needs, and took immediate action.

The MP announced that he had purchased a new electric wheelchair, providing the man with long-awaited mobility after 25 years of immobility.

Beyond the wheelchair, Sudi enrolled Tendenei in the Social Health Authority (SHA) to facilitate essential treatment and therapy.

He is also covering the school fees for the children and actively working to secure employment for the eldest son so he can support the family.

Additional support includes home improvements and the provision of basic supplies for the family’s upkeep.23

“It brings me joy to share what I can with this 62-year-old father who has been paralyzed and bedridden for 25 years,” Sudi wrote, expressing deep satisfaction with the intervention.

The gesture has drawn widespread praise on social media, with many lauding Sudi’s selflessness and calling it a true act of humanity.

Photos shared by the MP show Tendenei being assisted into the new wheelchair, alongside images of supplies and family members gathered around, symbolizing renewed hope.
