Sudi

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was warmly received in Mt Kenya when he visited the region after President William Ruto and Raila Odinga signed their agreement at KICC. He attended the launch of a new market in Gatundu North, Kiambu County, where he was invited by local leaders.

Speaking to residents of Gakoe Market in Gathobokoni Ward, Sudi urged them to remain united behind President Ruto. He reminded them that they played a big role in electing Ruto in 2022 and should not be distracted by the ongoing political debates in the region.

The MP also addressed the political fallout between Ruto and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. He told residents that the issue was not their concern and that they should focus on development. He reassured them that Ruto still values the Mt Kenya region and will continue to work for them despite the recent changes in government.

Sudi dismissed claims that Mt Kenya was being sidelined, saying that political fights happen but should not affect the people. He compared it to a family disagreement, where outsiders should not get involved. He urged residents to support the government’s projects and to welcome Ruto warmly when he visits the region.

His visit came just after Raila Odinga officially joined Ruto’s administration by signing a memorandum of understanding. This move has caused mixed reactions in the political space, but Sudi maintained that Mt Kenya should not be distracted by political drama.

The crowd cheered him as he spoke, showing their support. His message was clear: the people should focus on progress and not political divisions. The visit reinforced his position as a strong ally of Ruto and a vocal leader in the Kenya Kwanza government.
