Popular ODM supporter and social media influencer Omosh One Hour has called on young Kenyans to use wisdom rather than protests to gain access to State House.

Speaking during a government-led youth empowerment event at State House on Saturday, Omosh shared his advice in a TikTok video that quickly went viral. He said, “State House ndio ile pale nyuma, hukuji na maandamano, unakuja na akili,” meaning, “State House is right there; you don’t come with protests, you come with wisdom.”

The event was attended by President William Ruto and featured live music and speeches aimed at motivating the youth to engage in national development.

Omosh delivered his remarks with energy, dancing to the popular Kalenjin hit “Samantha,” which earned cheers from the audience.

The gathering took place on the recently renovated State House grounds. The colonial-era design was replaced with a modern flat-roof style. The costly facelift has sparked debate amid Kenya’s current economic challenges.

MC Chipukizi kept the atmosphere lively throughout the event. Security was tight to ensure order.

Omosh’s message sparked mixed reactions online. Supporters praised his call for peaceful and strategic engagement. Critics, however, felt it discouraged rightful protests and dissent.

Adding to the tension, some attendees chanted “one term” during the presidential event. This reflected the political frustrations among parts of Kenya’s youth.
