Death is indeed a robber that knows no boundaries. It is deaf to talent and fast rising musical prowess, and turns a blind eye to the deceased’s loved ones in their pain and grieving.
The Kenyan music industry has again been rocked by the death of Luo Benga artist Boaz Aketch alias Boaz Jagingo.
Jagingo allegedly died at Migori Referral Hospital, however, the cause of his death is yet to be established.
Sources indicate that the musician went mia on his family from Ndhiwa for three years. Since then, the family has been looking for him in vain.
Previously, Jagingo had ‘beef’ with his peers on various social media platforms. He reportedly received a backlash from the industry players.
It is not clear whether the period of the Covid-19 lockdown worsened the situation for the musician whose mental health, financial constraints and competition manifested in the conflict. There was a time he was put on quarantine for two weeks. He came out worse and ran into trouble.
