Some few minutes ago, the ODM party leader by hon Raila Odinga came out to address the nation over the ongoing protests in the republic of Kenya. This address happened at Chungwa house in Nairobi where Hassan Joho, Wycliffe Oparanya, Opiyo Wandayi among others were present.

As seen from the video shared by Azimio TV and other media houses, ODM has announced that they fully support peaceful protests in the republic of Kenya. However, they expressed their worry and concerns on how the police have handled these protests where over 30 people have lost their lives.

They called upon the IPOA to take actions against the police officers who will be found to have used excess force against protestors. They also said that executive and parliament are the two government organs which have been captured by the state and soon, they will scale down their presence and activities in parliament and executive.

“We condemn the abuse of police power in the deployment of violence on innocent unarmed protestors. Our position is that no one should die, as every person has the right to protest peacefully” Said Hon Edwin Sifuna.
