Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly hon Robert Alia has reacted after the list of those who allegedly sponsored the Gen Zs Uhuru park event emerges.According to the report the was earlier on released by activist Bonface Mwangi, he appreciated some of the generous individuals who lent their hands in terms of provision of funds and other form of support that ensured that the event was a success.
According to the report, those who lent hands in the event include Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja, popular TV and radio host Shaffie Weru, blankets and wine CEO Muthoni, the urban Maumau among other individuals.He also thanked various artists who offered to attain the congregation during the event.
“We wish to sincerely thank the following for facilitating and supporting the hugely successful shujaz memorial concert held at Uhuru park;Governor Johnson Sakaja, Shaffie Weru, Muthoni DQ and George Ndetch”,Mwang’is statement reads in parts.
However while reacting on the same, hon Alai has questioned whether their is accountability in the information.The MCA cited that he insists on the question arguing that Mwangi has not been able answer appropriately questioned that are involving accountability.
“In the spirit of accountability, can we be publicly accountable? Since I see it’s something your team dislikes, I am willing to insist on it because everytime you are asked to be accountable, you introduce all manners of herrings.Kindly public accountability.He who is entrusted with resources from the public must be accountable”,Alai remarked.
