YouTuber Oga Obinna is proposing that boxers Mbavu the Destroyer and Majembe have their rematch fight at State House so that President William Ruto and selected guests can watch. The bout took place on Saturday, April 4, at the Kasarani Indoor Sports Stadium and ended with Majembe being declared the winner via TKO (Technical Knockout) after a fourth-round finish.
Following the high-stakes boxing match, Nairobi County official Geoffrey Mosiria sparked controversy by alleging the fight was “scripted” and part of a scheme to defraud fans. Mosiria claimed he predicted the outcome in advance and accused Obinna of orchestrating the results for revenue and betting interest. In a fiery response, Obinna dismissed the claims as “clout chasing,” defended the event as a positive initiative for local youth, and even threatened to physically confront Mosiria for discrediting the tournament.

“What if we do an exhibition match at State House? In the next month. So the president gets to see Mbavu and Majembe redo the match, or someone else. It does not necessarily have to be them. Now we have Mbali Mbali and Alfayo, then we have Mufasa and Olang, then we can add other people. So we do like about eight fighters in the State House. Then we have a couple of artistes also performing in between. Then we have the families of the boxers attend, and a few chosen boxing enthusiasts, we get to stream it live, for every Kenyan, and they watch it from the President’s channel,” he said.
Obinna added that he is planning another boxing match scheduled for July 4, which he says will help in reviving the boxing industry. He also added plans to take it to other counties and called on governors and Members of Parliament to come support the youth by nominating and pledging financial support.
