Popular influencer Mercy Masai has responded to growing speculation surrounding her love life after a photo she posted went viral.
The social media personality recently shared a snippet of her romantic evening—just a photo of her hand interlocked with her partner’s. However, online sleuths quickly went to work. Based on the man’s watch, white trousers, and even a visible birthmark, many Kenyans concluded the mystery man is Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.
This speculation was fueled by Sudi’s recent photos from a separate event where he wore similar clothing and accessories. Mercy and Sudi have also been spotted together on a few occasions, including at his home during Tanzanian singer Juma Jux’s visit to Kenya.
After the photo sparked debate, Mercy took to Facebook with a light-hearted message for the internet detectives.
“Good evening DCI officers,” she joked, acknowledging the unexpected attention. She went on to tell her followers, “Nitawapostia sura next year. For now, tulieni,” suggesting she might reveal her partner’s identity in due time.
Mercy also addressed the unsolicited advice flooding her inbox, asking those offering relationship tips to open their own counseling centers.
“Nimeona wengine wenu mko na advices nzuri na mingi sana… endeni mfungue a counseling centre sasa. Niko na advisors wakutosha kwa sasa. Asanteni wapendwa,” she wrote.
While she neither confirmed nor denied the claims linking her to Sudi, Mercy’s playful response has only added fuel to the fire. Still, many fans say they’ll hold her to her promise of eventually revealing the man behind the viral photo.
