A disturbing incident in Tigoni, Limuru, has sparked outrage after it emerged that a 14-year-old boy was allegedly shot multiple times by police and detained for two days without medical attention.

According to reports published on Friday, June 11, Solomon Njoroge, a Grade 9 pupil, was playing football with friends during the Saba Saba protests when men in a white car arrived and opened fire.

“I was shot three times in my right leg. After I collapsed, another bullet hit the heel of my left leg,” Njoroge recounted from his hospital bed at Kenyatta National Hospital, where he is currently confined to a wheelchair awaiting surgery.

The attackers, believed to be undercover officers, allegedly frisked the boys, stole Solomon’s phone, and later called for backup.

A police truck reportedly arrived and loaded the injured teenager onto it. Shockingly, Njoroge said he was locked up in a cell for two days before receiving any medical help.

The incident has sparked condemnation from human rights groups, who are demanding an immediate investigation into the use of excessive force and the mistreatment of minors during protests.
