On 9th August 2022, Kenyans went to the general elections to elect different leaders as the president, governors, senators, women representatives, members of parliament and members of county assemblies. In the presidential seat, there was Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja, William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza who is now the president, George Wajackoyah of Roots party and Waihiga Mwaure.
Roots party leader George Wajackoyah had came up with a unique agenda, he proposed the rearing of snakes for selling for revenue generation.
George Wajackoyah has been among the leaders who have attended the Azimio people’s baraza in Kakamega, he has told Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa that there are snakes in Kakamega forest and the Kenya wildlife service has a licence and due to lack of Unga, they can sell the snakes to get money. Wajackoyah has thanked the governor of Baringo for already starting the selling of snakes in his county.
