Last Evening, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had a fruitful meeting with all the elected Senators and nominated one’s from Mount Kenya region in an attempt to solve the leadership stalemate in our counties according to Rigathi Gachagua official Facebook page account he quoted;

Continuous engagement with elected leaders is a catalyst to development for our People. It is also the best forum for feedback on what our employers think and feel about our leadership.

I had a fruitful engagement with Senators from eleven Counties, to audit the success of Devolution in their respective counties.

The Senators included; Kathuri Murungi (Meru), Joe Nyutu (Muranga), Mwenda Gataya Mo Fire (Tharaka-Nithi), Karungo Wa Thang’wa (Kiambu), Alexander Mundigi (Embu), John Methu (Nyandarua), Kamau Murango (Kirinyaga), Wahome Wamatinga (Nyeri), Tabitha Karanja (Nakuru), Joseph Kamau Githuku (Lamu), John Kinyua (Laikipia) and Veronica Maina (Nominated).

I will reach out to Governor Kawira in the follow-up intervention and I am confident that a break- through will be found soon.

I am happy with the progress we have made at the meeting and the willingness of the MCAs, particularly, to resolve the wrangles for the sake of their people and the county. This meeting was the second engagement I have had with the Meru leadership. Last week, I held a similar one in Nairobi with MPs from the county.I urge the people of Meru County to work closely with all the elected leaders for the sake of development of the great County of Meru.
