Johana Ng’eno’s widow, Naiyanoi Ntutu, has thanked Kenyans for the strong support she received after her husband’s death. Ng’eno, the Emurua Dikirr MP, died in a helicopter crash that also took five other lives, including the pilot.

After his passing, Naiyanoi was encouraged to run for his parliamentary seat. She initially accepted, backed by her family and clan elders, but withdrew from the race on March 23.

Through Instagram Stories, she expressed gratitude for the many messages of support. She gave special thanks to her cousins, saying their presence helped heal her heart. “Thank you all for the support and messages.

I may not respond to each one, but I see you. To my dear cousins, words can’t explain how you healed my heart with your support,” she wrote.

Ng’eno was buried on March 6 in Mogondo, Emurua Dikirr. The funeral was attended by President William Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, and thousands of mourners.

Many Kenyans responded positively to Naiyanoi’s messages. Erick Macharia said she’s well prepared and should take on the challenge. Others expressed support for her decision to step back, emphasizing her need to focus on her young family and time in politics.

At the funeral, Naiyanoi promised to care for her mother-in-law and her children. She also spoke of her late husband as the love of her youth, showing deep respect and affectin for him.
