A Nairobi woman has recovered her modified Toyota Vitz, popularly known online as “Pinky Hulk,” more than a month after it was stolen from her.
The car’s owner, identified online as Atieno and known by the handle @Fibs, announced the breakthrough in a social media post.
She confirmed the vehicle had been traced after a search that stretched across 32 days.
The Vitz, originally painted a distinctive green that made it recognisable online, was found repainted white.
The colour change suggested a deliberate attempt to disguise the car and throw off anyone searching for it.
Atieno described the weeks it was missing as a gruelling stretch of emotional and physical strain.
She said the vehicle remains in police custody as investigations into the theft continue, and declined to share further details while the matter is being handled by authorities.
The recovery followed a coordinated push involving a ground team led by RollacultureKE, which carried out physical searches, alongside numerous social media pages that helped keep the story visible to the public.
Atieno singled out OCS Jamhuri, identified as Mr Osewe, for particular thanks, saying he had been involved from the first day and remained reachable throughout the search.
She also credited her family, including her mother, siblings, uncle and in-laws, for supporting her through the ordeal.
“I am completely overwhelmed with gratitude,” she wrote, adding that the recovery was made possible through teamwork, love and support.
She thanked God for protecting the car and blessing everyone who stood with her during the search.
“There are many lessons to learn, but today we celebrate,” she wrote. “May Pinky Hulk live long.” The case remains under investigation as authorities work to establish the circumstances of the theft.
