A woman from Utawala has sparked public concern after alleging that one of her kidneys was missing following a Caesarean section at a Nairobi hospital. The claims have drawn widespread attention as her family seeks answers over the circumstances surrounding her deteriorating health.
The woman, identified as Jane Mureithi, reportedly underwent a successful Caesarean section at Mama Lucy Hospital, where she delivered her baby. According to her husband, the procedure went well, and after spending three days at the hospital, Jane was discharged to continue recovering at home.
However, the family’s joy over the birth of their child was short-lived. Soon after returning home, Jane allegedly began experiencing severe pain in her lower abdomen. Her husband said the pain became so intense that she struggled to breastfeed their newborn and was unable to carry out basic daily activities.
At first, the family believed the pain was part of the normal recovery process following surgery. However, when her condition failed to improve and instead worsened over the following days, they decided to return to the hospital for further medical evaluation.
According to her husband, doctors conducted additional examinations, including a scan, to determine the source of the persistent pain. It was during these tests that the family claims they were informed that Jane’s left kidney was missing.
The allegation has left the family devastated, with Jane’s husband saying her health has continued to decline. He stated that she now struggles to walk without assistance and is unable to perform routine tasks because of her condition.
