Police in Kasarani, Nairobi County, are detaining a Nairobi Bishop who disguised himselft as KRA officer after being found in possession of counterfeit Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stamps and uncustomed alcoholic drinks.
Johanes Odhiambo’s arrest was effected after heightened manhunt led by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers and KRA staffs.
“After getting wind of intelligence leads, the group stormed an unmarked godown in Kasarani’s Vickens 30 Industrial park where after a lengthy inspection, the officers successfully recovered an assortment of various types of spirits, 250 litres drums of ethanol, bottle lids and counterfeit KRA stamps.,” the DCI said in a post.
“Also seized were 3 empty tanks of 3000 litres, one 5000 litres tank full of uncustomed alcohol plus 10,000ltrs tank holding 3000 litres of blended alcoholic spirits.”
The DCI’s Economic and Commercial Crimes Unit has since documented the scene as Odhiambo is assisting police search the leads of his accomplices who successfully flee to unknown route.
This comes barely few days when two people were also arrested with bhang.
