Nadia

Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami has spoken out after her former partner, Arrow Bwoy, lost to Ugandan businessman and boxer Shakib Cham Lutaaya during the highly publicised Vurugu 2.0 celebrity boxing event.

The Nairobi-based event attracted widespread attention across East Africa due to the personalities involved and the heated exchanges that dominated the build-up to the fight.

In the weeks leading up to the match, Arrow Bwoy and Shakib engaged in online banter, with some of the rivalry extending beyond the ring and involving Shakib’s wife, Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan.

Following Arrow Bwoy’s defeat, Nadia took to social media to encourage the singer, praising him for taking part in the fight despite it being his first time in the ring.

“To Baba Watoto, for a first fight, you tried a lot!!! Your first time in the arena and you did it!!! You brought showbiz and skills as that was the most anticipated match of Vurugu 2 because of you!” Nadia wrote.

Nadia defends her message

Nadia’s post quickly attracted attention, with many followers interpreting it as her response to Arrow Bwoy’s loss.

She went on to praise his courage and urged him not to focus on the criticism and jokes that followed the defeat.

“People are talking about Arrow Bwoy! That’s enough! Ignore the hate and the memes; some can’t even survive half a round. Now up you go! Keep training. Big stages ahead,” she added.

However, some social media users questioned her decision to support her former partner publicly, prompting Nadia to address the criticism.

Through her Instagram Stories, the singer explained that her message was simply a reflection of healthy co-parenting and maturity after their separation.

“To the people saying Nadia is desperate, NO! I just decided to embrace healthy co-parenting. I am too bubbly to carry hate in my heart. I am too tiny to carry the burden of hate in my heart; that’s too heavy for me,” she wrote.

Fans react

The post sparked mixed reactions from fans.

Some supporters sympathised with Arrow Bwoy and praised Nadia for showing encouragement, while others joked about the outcome of the celebrity fight.

Some comments questioned whether Arrow Bwoy focused enough on preparation ahead of the match, while others suggested Nadia’s message had deeper meaning because of their past relationship.

Others, however, defended her, saying the post should simply be viewed as support rather than a hidden message.

Vurugu 2.0 keeps making headlines

Vurugu 2.0 became one of the region’s most talked-about entertainment events, combining celebrity boxing, music performances and online rivalries.

Organised by media personality Oga Obinna, the event brought together public figures who settled personal differences through regulated boxing matches.

Nadia concluded her message by thanking Obinna for creating a platform that continues to promote entertainment and opportunities within the industry.
