Uhuru Kenyatta’s nephew, Jomo Gecaga, recently gave Kenyans a rare glimpse into his private life by sharing a romantic clip from his wedding with Lola Hannigan.
The couple, who have been together for years and share three children, tied the knot in a luxurious December ceremony attended by members of the Kenyatta family, including former President Uhuru Kenyatta, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, and Uhuru’s mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
In the video, Jomo showered his bride with affection, describing Lola as the “love of his life, my safe space, and my answered prayer.”
He added, “On this day, I married my best friend, my safe place, my answered prayer. Lola, loving you is the greatest decision of my life. Forever begins here.”
The clip also captured intimate moments from their wedding reception, including the couple’s dance and their outfit changes, with Lola appearing stunning in a figure-hugging silver dress.
The garden wedding was filled with heartfelt moments, from Lola being walked down the aisle by her father to the joyful smiles of the Kenyatta family posing with the newlyweds.
Despite being part of one of Kenya’s most prominent political families, Jomo has maintained a relatively low-profile lifestyle, keeping his children’s lives private and away from social media.
The businessman has six children in total—three with Lola, two from his previous relationship with former TV host Anne Kiguta, and one with Valentine Njoroge.
Over the years, Jomo has been known for his romantic gestures toward Lola, including filling her bedroom with roses, making their wedding celebrations a continuation of their love story.
