Mama Roslinda Simatoli, the wife of Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli, has publicly declared her support for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and urged her husband to reconsider his political position.

Speaking during the launch of the Linda Mwananchi Movement headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi, Mama Roslinda addressed a gathering of supporters and mothers, describing Sifuna as her political son and expressing confidence in the direction he represents.

She also reflected on the 2022 General Election, saying many Kenyans had supported promises of improved livelihoods and more money in their pockets without fully understanding who would ultimately benefit.

“Mheshimiwa Riggy G knows that in 2022 we were together saying better lives and money in the pocket, but our mistake was that we did not know whose pocket the money was going into,” she said.

Her remarks appeared to refer to the political choices made during the 2022 election and the economic expectations that accompanied them.

Turning directly to her husband, Mama Roslinda urged Atwoli to reconsider his political position and pay attention to the mood among Kenyans.

“I am speaking and I know there are elders listening to me. Let Francis Atwoli remove the mud from his eyes so he can see clearly and witness where Kenyans want to go,” she said.

She also invoked scripture from the Book of Acts, using its message about young people having visions and older generations dreaming to make a case for cooperation between generations.

Mama Roslinda called on mothers across the country to stand with young people and leaders advocating for change, saying Kenyans needed to work together as the country approaches the 2027 General Election.
