Diana Kamuntu

Janet Museveni, the wife of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Uganda’s first lady, has further broken her silence that she is well and okay.

The silence was again broken when she wished one of her three daughters Diana Kyaremera a happy birthday.

Via her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Janet wrote, “We can not forget that this is the day a beautiful baby girl came into the world. That baby was Diana, the one who took her grandmother’s name, Kyaremera. So, happy birthday, Kyaremera. With all our love.”

Diana Kamuntu, the youngest daughter of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Janet Museveni, was born on the 30th of June, 1980. She is currently 46 years old now as of 2026.

Diana follows other siblings who are Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Natasha Karugire, and Patience Rwabwogo.

This small tweet from the first lady was enough to show people that she is slowly recovering and returning back to her normal health.

Reports earlier this year revealed that Janet had been critically ill and had to travel out of the country for special treatment.

However, full details regarding the hospital and medical conditions she was suffering from were revealed.

Many suggested that some of these matters were kept private and confidential for safety reasons, something that has been done for top government officials.

Janet was absent from many social events that had President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, some of which included the swearing-in ceremony.

President Museveni was constantly seen with her eldest daughter Natasha beside her on most of these occasions.
