Kenyan content creator Mungai Eve has opened up about her personal journey of healing and growth following a public breakup with her boyfriend. In a bold move, she revealed that she has chosen celibacy, deciding to stay away from romantic and physical relationships, at least for now.
Speaking on her YouTube platform, Eve disclosed that she began her celibacy journey in March and hopes to continue it for six months. Her statement came shortly after her ex-boyfriend accused her of mistreatment and using him for fame, claims that stirred mixed reactions online.
“I don’t want men right now,” Eve said firmly. “If I’m going to be with someone, it has to be meaningful. I’m on a celibacy journey. It’s all in the mind.”
Her comments, quoted by TUKO.co.ke, sparked a heated debate on social media.
While some praised Eve for taking control of her life, others doubted her intentions. One user commented, “There’s no celibacy here, she just hasn’t found a man yet.” Another fan, however, wrote, “I’ve been celibate for 23 years. I admire her decision.”
Despite the noise, Eve seems focused on her self-love journey, choosing peace over pressure.
