A devastating road accident in Limuru has left a family in mourning after seven of its members perished while returning from a funeral.

Among those who lost their lives was a man identified as Muturi, his three children, his three brothers, and a young boy whose mother worked as a househelp for the family.

Hannah Wanjiku, the bereaved mother of the young boy, recounted her heartbreak upon learning about the accident. She explained that she had initially discouraged her child from traveling with the family but eventually gave in to his request.

“He told me, ‘Mum, let me just go with them.’ I did not want him to, but he was so close to Muturi’s children, and they always played together,” she tearfully recalled.

The grieving mother shared that she had raised her son while working for the Muturi family, and their bond had grown over the years. She began to worry when the travelers did not return home by nightfall on Sunday. Her fears were confirmed when she received a phone call from her brother urging her to visit her workplace.

Upon arrival, she was met with cries of anguish as she was informed of the fatal accident. Though overcome with grief, Wanjiku expressed her acceptance of fate, saying she believes everything happens according to God’s will.

The tragedy has left the community in shock, with friends and relatives struggling to come to terms with the loss of seven lives. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident as the family prepares to lay their loved ones to rest.
