Former Churchill Show comedian and content creator Mtumishi has opened up about the events that led to the breakdown of his marriage, revealing the financial and family challenges he says contributed to the end of the relationship.

Mtumishi said he met his former wife shortly after she completed high school and supported her as she pursued her education. According to the comedian, he helped her secure admission to Kabarak University and paid her tuition and rent throughout her studies.

After she graduated, Mtumishi said he used his connections to help her secure a job at an international organisation, where she earned about KSh80,000 per month.

However, he said their relationship later experienced difficulties, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when he faced financial struggles.

Mtumishi claimed that his wife eventually told him she could not continue living with a man who was struggling financially before leaving the marriage. She later remarried.

The comedian also made a serious allegation against his mother, claiming that she interfered with his marriage through witchcraft. The allegation has not been independently verified.

Mtumishi said the experience caused a deep rift between him and his mother, adding that they have not spoken since 2021. He said he deliberately avoids answering her calls.

“I hate my mother so much. Since 2021, I have not spoken to her. When she calls, I miss the calls. I do not pick up her phone,” he said.

His revelations have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some people sympathising with him while others questioned his decision to publicly discuss such deeply personal family matters.

Mtumishi’s account has once again drawn attention to the private struggles that public figures sometimes choose to share with their audiences.
