A bold and chilling claim by Odoyo Owidi who works at Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency has stirred national attention after he alleged that the late Ongondo Were, slain Kasipul MP, was involved in violent acts during his lifetime.
Speaking during an interview, Owidi claimed to have a video showing Ongondo Were removing someone’s intestines using a knife and walking away “as if nothing happened.” He further claimed that Were used to move around with nine armed assassins.
“I have a video of the late Ongondo Were removing someone’s intestines with a knife, then walking away like it was normal. He used to walk with nine assassins,” Owidi said.
The remarks, which shocked many Kenyans, have sparked debate about the country’s political past and the hidden violence behind it.
Some Kenyans have demanded that the video be made public, while others are questioning the timing and intention behind Owidi’s statement.
So far, the family of the late Ongondo Were has not responded to the allegations.
Were, who was assassinated on 30th April last month, was a Member of Parliament for Kasipul and a key ally of the ODM party.
