Molo MP Francis Kuria on Friday stood alongside World Champion Beatrice Chebet and her husband, Coach Peter Bii, as they laid to rest their beloved father and father-in-law, the late Moses Paul Rugutt, in Sachangwan, Borop Village, Molo Ward.Mr. Rugutt, the 13th born in a family of 16, was widely remembered as a patriotic son of Molo whose legacy of resilience, dedication, and community service continues to inspire.
His life reflected a commitment to family, faith, and local development, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
The funeral drew a gathering of Kenya’s athletics elite, including Faith Kipyegon, Halima Athrite, Julius Yego, Ibrahim Kibiwott, Ishmael Kipkuto, and Faith Cherotich.
Their presence underscored the high regard in which Mr. Rugutt was held within both the sporting community and his local constituency.
Speaking during the burial ceremony, MP Kuria encouraged the community to embrace peace and unity, highlighting that, much like in athletics, collective effort and collaboration are key to achieving success.His words resonated with attendees, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and mutual support in overcoming life’s challenges.
