MP Babu Owino has expressed excitement after the Linda Mwananchi delegation received a warm reception from thousands of residents during a political tour in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.The delegation, led by Owino, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Orengo and Natembeya was welcomed by large crowds as the movement continued its grassroots mobilisation campaign across the region on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Sharing his reaction on social media after the event, Babu Owino admitted he had not anticipated such a massive turnout from Kitale residents.
“Kitale, I was not familiar with your game. Hii ni mbaaya,” the outspoken legislator posted, accompanied by photos and videos showing enthusiastic supporters lining the streets and attending the gathering.
The event marked another stop in the Linda Mwananchi movement’s nationwide outreach programme, which seeks to expand its support base ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Supporters gathered in large numbers, cheering the leaders as they addressed residents on issues affecting the country and outlined the movement’s vision.
The impressive turnout quickly attracted attention online, with supporters describing it as a sign of the movement’s growing popularity in different parts of the country.Babu Owino has remained one of the movement’s vocal leaders, frequently using public forums and social media to rally support and encourage greater public participation.
According to the programme the delegation is expected to proceed to Bungoma County on Sunday for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s homecoming rally, an event that organisers believe will attract thousands of supporters from across Western Kenya.
Linda Mwananchi has increasingly attracted prominent political figures from different parties, including governors, senators, Members of Parliament, lawyers and civil society leaders.
