A mother has been forced to flee her home in Homa Bay County to Vihiga County after her landlord allegedly assaulted her young daughter.
According to sources, the incident happened in the Got Kokech area of Homa Bay County, where the woman lived with her five-year-old child. It is alleged that the landlord assaulted the minor, leaving her with severe injuries.
The mother stated that her daughter later explained what the 70-year-old landlord had done to her, prompting her to seek medical attention at a local facility at Hope Centre Health where the assault was confirmed. She further revealed that the child had been deeply affected by the ordeal.
The mother reported the matter at a nearby police station, but the suspect is yet to be arrested. To make matters worse, she claims the landlord has continued to threaten her and her family, forcing them to relocate for their safety.
She also narrated that due to her difficult financial situation, she is unable to pursue the case further. She is now appealing to the government and well-wishers to support her in seeking justice for her daughter.
