Geoffrey Mosiria, the newly appointed head of the Citizen Engagement and Customer Service docket in Nairobi, has issued a stern warning to county workers shortly after assuming his new responsibilities.
His remarks came during an internal briefing where he outlined his expectations for improved discipline, efficiency and accountability within all departments under his supervision.
Mosiria, who previously served in a different capacity before being reassigned, made it clear that his priority is to restore order and professionalism in the county’s service delivery system. He emphasized that workers who have grown comfortable with laxity, absenteeism or misuse of public resources will face firm consequences.
According to him, the era of inefficiency within Nairobi’s public offices must come to an end for the sake of residents who depend on timely and respectful service.
In his address, Mosiria noted that his new office will strengthen monitoring mechanisms to identify patterns of misconduct. He stated that any employee who attempts to undermine reforms through corruption, delayed service or deliberate negligence should consider themselves warned.
His approach will include closer supervision, scheduled performance reviews and unannounced spot checks to ensure that service points across the city maintain consistent standards.
Mosiria also encouraged workers who are committed to their duties, assuring them that they will receive the support they need to perform effectively. He insisted that the goal is not to intimidate hardworking staff but to remind all public officers that their roles carry a responsibility to the public.
He stressed that genuine dedication, courtesy and transparency will be key values as the county strives to improve its relationship with Nairobi residents.
His message has already sparked strong reactions within the county offices, with some employees welcoming the push for discipline while others remain uneasy about stricter oversight.
Mosiria, however, appears determined to carry out his mandate without compromise, stating that the county cannot continue losing public trust because of a few individuals who refuse to uphold workplace ethics.
As he settles into his role, the coming weeks are expected to reveal the practical impact of his warning. Whether through improved service delivery, reduced complaints or greater accountability, his performance will be closely watched by both the county administration and the public.
