Happening now in Kongowea Market in Mombasa as man is swept away by raging floods as helpless crowd watched before daring men jumped into the water to save him.
In the video, the man was swept by floods after heavy rains pounded the area. It shows him trying to save himself but the raging water was too powerful for him to make it out on his own. Crowd just stood by the sides of the market, watching him helplessly trying to escape from speeding water.
It took the courage of a man who jumped into the water to rescue him. He dragged him out into the open as other men joined in for the rescue.
Heavy rains have pounded Mombasa today, flooding houses , destroying properties and cutting off roads rendering them impassable.
The el nino rains continue to be experienced in different parts of the country with weatherman warning that the heavy rains may continue up to March.
