Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has expressed interest in joining the upcoming Vurugu 3 celebrity boxing event, saying she is ready to step into the ring and could even headline the show.
Omanga made the announcement after comedian and media personality Steve Thompson Maghana, popularly known as Oga Obinna, invited fans to suggest who should lead the next edition of the popular celebrity boxing competition.
“Vurugu 2 is done and dusted; now let’s make Vurugu 3 a reality. Who should be the headliner?” Obinna wrote.
Responding to the post, Omanga volunteered herself for the challenge.
“Mimi pia nataka kuingia kwa ring naweza kuwa headliner,” she replied, signalling her willingness to become part of the highly anticipated event.
Vurugu 3 Plans Underway
Omanga’s interest comes after Obinna revealed that Vurugu 3 is expected to take place in December 2026, although an official date has not yet been announced.
The celebrity boxing event has grown into a major entertainment attraction in Kenya, bringing together musicians, influencers, content creators and public figures for highly publicised boxing matches.
Possible Mbavu vs Majembe Rematch
Obinna had earlier hinted at a potential showdown between Mbavu Destroyer and Majembe during Vurugu 3, while explaining why Mbavu was not included in the Vurugu 2 fight card.
Speaking about the selection process, Obinna clarified that Mbavu’s absence was not because he lacked popularity or value, but because organisers had to find a suitable opponent.
“The reason why Mbavu hayuko is this one, I did not say Mbavu does not have value. When we were making the fight card, we were looking at who Mbavu is going to fight with; that is the problem,” Obinna explained.
He noted that Mbavu already has an existing rivalry with Majembe, making the pair a natural match for a future bout.
Obinna added that although Majembe had initially been scheduled to face another opponent, fans could potentially see the long-awaited Mbavu versus Majembe clash in December.
“Mbavu already has so much beef with Majembe, so ukiwaweka tena wapigana na Majembe… chances are high we might have Mbavu and Majembe in December, not now,” he said.
With Omanga now throwing her name into the mix, anticipation continues to build around who will headline Vurugu 3.
