Mike Sonko is in mourning following the death of his brother-in-law, Ken Mutua, a loss that has deeply affected his family and sparked an outpouring of emotional tributes online.

The former Nairobi governor took to social media to break the sad news, revealing that Ken Mutua, the brother of his wife Primrose Mbuvi, had passed away.

At the time of publication, the family had not disclosed the cause of death.

Sonko shared a series of photos capturing happier moments spent with Ken and other family members, painting a picture of a man who was closely integrated into their lives and cherished within the family circle.

In his emotional message, he described Ken as a kind and loving individual whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

“Death is cruel. Our hearts go out to the entire family during this painful time. Ken was a wonderful soul whose kindness and presence truly touched us as a family.

He will be greatly missed, but forever remembered in our hearts. Rest in eternal peace, Ken,” Sonko wrote.

His wife, Primrose Mbuvi, also expressed her grief through a brief but emotional message on social media. She simply wrote, “Fare thee well bro. Rest in peace Ken,” reflecting the deep personal pain the family is going through.

The tragedy also touched Sonko’s adopted son, Satrine Osinya, who paid tribute to the late Ken with a heartfelt message recalling their shared memories.

Osinya shared a video believed to have been taken in a hospital setting and reflected on the close bond he had with Ken.

In his tribute, he expressed heartbreak over the loss, noting that Ken had been part of his life from an early stage.

He remembered Ken as someone who had witnessed some of his earliest milestones, including his first steps, and thanked him for the love, laughter, and support he had shown over the years.

“You were the first person who watched me take my very first steps, and that is a memory I will carry forever,” Osinya wrote.

He added that although Ken is gone, the memories and love they shared will remain with him always.

The family’s emotional tributes have drawn sympathy from Kenyans online, with many sending messages of condolence and comfort to the grieving household during this difficult period of loss.
