Two secondary schools in Elgeyo Marakwet County are embroiled in a scandal involving student’s sexual misconduct.
Santa Maria Cheptulon Girls and Marakwet Boys High School have become a topic of conversation within the region.
This situation arose after eight boys from Marakwet High School left their school at 11 PM and made their way to Santa Maria Girls, which is situated five kilometers away.
Their objective, was to engage in a romantic encounter with the girls in one of the dormitories.
As per the source, the boys departed the school at 11 PM, prompting the watchmen to be alerted and remain on high alert.
The first boy returned to the school at 4 AM, with the others following shortly thereafter.
The principal decided to escort them to the Police Station in Chebiemit for questioning, where they admitted to being at Santa Maria Girls.
As reported, the eight boys have been suspended alongside 21 girls from Santa Maria for séxual misconduct.
Marakwet West Sub-County Director of Education Kipyego Sang indicated that the disciplinary proceedings concerning both students and teachers are still ongoing.
