A woman from Meru County has inspired many people after sharing her emotional journey of success and giving back to her family, even after losing her father.
Sharon Mwiti, a Kenyan nurse working in the United Kingdom, has built a beautiful maisonette for her family as a way of appreciating the sacrifices made during her upbringing.
Sharon revealed that her journey to working abroad was not easy. While still a nursing student in Kenya, she applied for more than 50 job opportunities in different countries.
Many of these applications were unsuccessful, but she remained determined and continued trying. Her persistence eventually paid off when she secured a nursing job in the UK.
She described the moment she got the job as life-changing. Moving to a new country came with challenges, including adapting to a different healthcare system and environment. However, she stayed focused and worked hard to build her career.
Over the past four years, Sharon has grown professionally and gained valuable experience in the UK.
Through her journey, she has also taken time to help other Kenyan nurses who wish to work abroad.
She guides them on the application process, registration requirements, and how to settle once they secure jobs.
Despite her success, Sharon says she never forgot her roots.
She explained that her parents struggled to educate her, but they never gave up on her dreams.
Sadly, her father passed away before he could see her achievements and the life she has built.
His death deeply affected her, but it also strengthened her desire to support her family. As a result, she decided to build a modern maisonette for her parents.
She said the house is a symbol of love, gratitude, and respect for the sacrifices her parents made.
Sharon noted that completing the home without her father present was emotional.
She expressed sadness that he did not live to see the results of her hard work, but she believes he would have been proud of her achievements.
