Reverend Stephen Kaithia, a cleric from Neema Christian Church in Meru County, recently recounted a chilling experience in which his Bible saved his life from an armed attack.
The incident occurred near his church when he was ambushed by armed thugs who demanded money.
During the attack, the assailants who have been targeting churches in the region for valuable equipment turned violent.
Reverend Kaithia described how, while he attempted to comply with their demands, one of the criminals raised a machete to strike him. He instinctively blocked the blow with his hand resulting in injuries that required a bandage.
What followed was truly miraculous. As the attackers fired a gun, a bullet struck the Bible that had been resting on his dashboard preventing it from penetrating his body.Kaithia explained that the Bible was positioned randomly yet it became both a spiritual and literal shield.
“This is God’s miracle because this Bible was just sitting right there on the dashboard and when the bullet was fired in my direction, it hit this Bible and penetrated almost to the first page,”he stated.
A bullet hole was clearly visible on the windscreen of his car indicating the bullet’s trajectory before it struck the Bible.
Holding up the damaged pages, he expressed his gratitude likening his survival to the biblical story of Daniel who was protected in the lion’s den.
Following this terrifying experience, Reverend Kaithia called for increased security measures to protect clergy members who have increasingly become targets of violent attacks.
His story not only highlights the dangers faced by religious leaders but also serves as a testament to faith and divine protection in times of peril.
