Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are celebrating their daughter Princess Lilibet’s milestone fifth birthday in style.
“Our dream girl,” Meghan, 44, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, June 4. “Happy 5th birthday, Lili 🤍.”
The Duchess of Sussex uploaded two rare photos of her family, including one of Harry, 41, holding their daughter. In a separate pic, Lili showed off her bright red hair while playing in a garden.
Harry and Meghan, who also share 7-year-old son Prince Archie, live in Montecito, California, with their brood. (The married couple relocated across the pond after stepping down from their duties as senior working royals in 2020.)
“We were looking in this area, and this house kept popping up online in searches,” Meghan recalled in a 2022 interview with The Cut. “We didn’t have jobs, so we just were not going to come and see this house. It wasn’t possible. It’s like when I was younger and you’re window shopping. It’s like, ‘I don’t want to go and look at all the things that I can’t afford. That doesn’t feel good.’”
Despite their initial hesitations, Harry and Meghan toured the property anyway.
“One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” the As Ever founder explained. “They’re connected at the bottom. He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’ And now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.’ … You walk in and [feel] joy. And exhale. And calm. It’s healing. You feel free.”
After their move, Meghan relaunched her social media profile that was shuttered amid her royal engagement and launched a lifestyle empire.
“It doesn’t feel like a drag, it feels liberating,” Meghan said on a June 2025 episode of the “Aspire” podcast of reactivating her social media profile. “I have to look again, what was my intention? … Part of it is just being able to authentically share in real time the things that are happening that I think someone might be able to laugh with or enjoy or be inspired by.”
Meghan even shares rare photos of Archie and Lili online, including a throwback video of herself dancing while in labor.
“You have to be authentic,” she said on “Aspire” at the time. “[This was] four years ago. It’s also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life — a real, authentic, fun life — that’s happening behind the scenes. I’m just grateful that now, being back on social, as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”
