Being a house maid is always underrated by many as many always think that despite the slavery work they do they only end up being paid a little amount of money.Teaching on the other hand is also not preferred by many since their salary can’t always cater for their needs as compared to what they earn. A normal teacher employed by the TSC currently earns an average salary of Ksh 30,000 per month.
The government also ruled out that house maids working in towns should be paid an average salary of Ksh 12,000 per month and those in the rural areas to be paid Ksh 7,000 per month.
House maids working for celebrities are currently going home with huge amount of money.
Diana Maria,a Kenyan rapper is paying her house maid Ksh 100,000 monthly.
This is after her house maid ,Irene Nekesa revealed in an interview that she takes home Ksh 100,000.
This equals to a salary of a lecturer in a university.
Vera Sidika also revealed that she is paying her two nannies over Ksh 40,000 per month.She said that her nannies are both above forty years and she loves working with them.
“I prefer the forty years old because they are the best.These 20 something years old aren’t my style.I pay her (over Ksh 40 )” she said.
The two nannies are earning huge amounts of money more than other government employees.
