Kamba gospel singer and dancer Ndeke Ya Muthanga has opened up about the painful struggles he and his wife, Maggy, endured before achieving success, revealing why he believes he can never betray the woman who stood by him through their hardest moments.
Speaking during an interview shared on TikTok, the musician became emotional as he recalled the sacrifices his wife made when they had almost nothing.
According to Ndeke, Maggy was working at a hotel at the time and earned only Ksh100, yet she still found ways to make sure he never slept hungry.
He revealed that despite earning very little, she would secretly carry food from her workplace, hiding chapati in her clothes before bringing it home so they could share a meal.
“My wife was working in a hotel and earning only Ksh100. She would hide chapati in her clothes and bring it home for me to eat,” he recalled.
The singer said those moments remain unforgettable because his wife never abandoned him even when life became extremely difficult.
He also remembered another occasion when she brought him eggs despite their financial struggles, describing it as another sign of the unconditional love and commitment she showed him.
According to Ndeke, Maggy believed in him when many people doubted his future. Her unwavering support gave him the strength to keep pursuing his music career despite the hardships they faced.
He admitted that remembering those sacrifices makes it impossible for him to imagine being unfaithful to her.
“That is why I can never cheat on my wife. After everything she did for me, I cannot repay her with heartbreak,” he said.
The touching revelation comes just months after the musician surprised Maggy with a brand-new motorbike as a token of appreciation for standing with him throughout their journey.
Sharing the gift on social media, Ndeke explained that he wanted to make her daily errands easier, especially trips to the market.
He also promised that when God blesses him further, his next gift to her will be a car.
“My wife, use this motorbike whenever you are going to the market. When I am blessed even more, I will buy you a car,” he wrote.
The singer later described the motorbike as more than just a present, saying it symbolized the love, loyalty and partnership they have built over the years.
His story has resonated with many Kenyans online, with social media users praising Maggy’s unwavering support during the couple’s difficult years and applauding Ndeke for publicly appreciating the woman who stood by him before fame and success arrived.
For many fans, the couple’s journey is a reminder that lasting relationships are often built through sacrifice, patience and standing together during life’s toughest seasons.
