Central Organisation of Trade Unions secretary general Francis Atwoli has opened up about a lesser-known member of his family, revealing that his firstborn daughter has spent much of her life away from public attention.
Speaking from his home, Atwoli introduced his eldest daughter and disclosed that she was born in 1972. He said she is a preacher serving in the Church of God and has devoted her life to Christian ministry.
The revelation offered a rare glimpse into the private side of Atwoli’s family, as his firstborn daughter has seldom appeared in public alongside her famous father or other members of the family.
While talking about his older children, Atwoli also recalled the family members who came after his firstborn daughter. He said another child was born in 1974 but later passed away. His son, Professor Lukoye Atwoli, was born in 1976, while another son, Joel, also remains part of the household.
Lukoye is among Atwoli’s most publicly recognised children. The psychiatrist and professor has regularly appeared at public functions with his father and has attracted attention through his professional career.
Atwoli has previously disclosed that he has 19 children, several of whom have pursued different careers. Some have also appeared in public during important family occasions over the years.
The latest introduction has brought renewed attention to Atwoli’s family, particularly his eldest daughter, whose decision to remain private has kept her largely away from the spotlight.
Unlike some of her siblings who have become known through their careers and public appearances, she has built her identity around her religious work.
