Geoffrey Mosiria, a Nairobi County officer, has devised a novel strategy for getting people to talk. The Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service says he met a man in the city center who resembles singer Bahati, and he is now willing to put the two together for a DNA test.

Mosiria posted about the meeting on Instagram on Wednesday, October 6, 2026. He reported meeting the individual, also known online as Bahati Low Budget, and joked that he was ready to reconcile him with the original celebrity.

He said he wanted to help them figure out whether they were brothers with the same parents. The post was plainly intended as a prank. Mosiria capitalised on the two men’s striking likeness, and nothing implies he was making a serious claim about their familial ties.

He also ended his letter with a light remark about young people in town, stating that many of them will do virtually everything to avoid going into farming. The remark is made at a time when DNA testing is a hot topic in Kenyan entertainment circles.

Ciggie Johnson, a content producer, recently spoke out after paternity test results involving a child garnered widespread attention online.

He stated that some of the harsh comments affected him, but that individuals were ultimately correct. His story has triggered a broader discussion about paternity tests, family ties, and the urge to debate private topics in public.

Unlike that case, Mosiria’s offer is simple comedy based on a physical likeness. So far, there is no indication that Bahati or his impersonator has answered or agreed to take any tests.

Nonetheless, the tweet has brought a fun twist to the existing discussion regarding DNA and famous life, and followers will certainly wait to see if either man responds.
