82-year-old Edward Swai has been accused of murdering his 42-year-old son, Oscar Swai, after a dispute over a jacket the father had allegedly forbidden him to wear.
Authorities say Edward fatally attacked his son during a heated argument, then buried Oscar secretly on his farm in an attempt to conceal the crime.
According to police reports, Edward fabricated a story about how Oscar had met his fate, misleading relatives and neighbors for weeks.
The deception unraveled when Oscar’s sister, Kalista Fundisha Swai, began questioning the inconsistencies in her father’s account and launched her own inquiry into her brother’s sudden disappearance.
“I couldn’t ignore the signs. Things didn’t add up. Eventually, I uncovered the truth,” Kalista told investigators.
The tragic incident has sparked outrage in the community, with many struggling to comprehend how a father-son conflict could escalate to such a fatal outcome.
Police have since arrested Edward Swai, who remains in custody as investigations continue.
