The County Assembly of Taita Taveta is in deep mourning following the tragic passing of Stellah Machocho Wangama, the wife of Hon. Duncan Wangama, Member of County Assembly for Wusi-Kishamba Ward.
Stellah passed away on the morning of July 8, 2025, after developing unexpected complications following childbirth. She had undergone a successful Caesarean Section on the evening of July 7, during which she and her husband welcomed a healthy baby girl.
However, later that night, her condition deteriorated rapidly. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, she succumbed to birth-related complications.
Her sudden demise has left the family, friends, and the entire county in grief, with many expressing sorrow over the loss of a woman described as compassionate, resilient, and deeply supportive of her husband’s public service.
Taita Taveta Governor Hon. Andrew Mwadime paid tribute to Stellah, calling her a “pillar of strength” whose presence had a profound impact on those around her.
Speaker of the County Assembly, Hon. Anselm Mwadime Chao, conveyed the Assembly’s collective grief and extended heartfelt condolences to Hon. Wangama and his family. He emphasized the Assembly’s solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time.
The loss of Stellah Wangama is not only a personal tragedy for the MCA and his family but also a moment of sorrow for the entire county. As the community rallies around the grieving family, messages of comfort and support continue to pour in from leaders and residents alike.
