People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) leader Ndindi Nyoro and Jubilee Party leader Fred Matiang’i have arrived in Oloitokitok town, Kajiado County, ahead of a public rally as political leaders continue to position themselves for the 2027 general elections.

The two leaders are expected to address residents in Oloitokitok before proceeding to Kimana Market Centre later in the afternoon for another public rally. Their visit is expected to attract attention as political activities continue to gain momentum ahead of the next general election.

Nyoro and Matiang’i are set to hold a joint political rally, signalling their growing willingness to work together ahead of the 2027 elections. Their recent political engagements have raised questions about possible alliances and the direction of the opposition as leaders seek to strengthen their positions.

Matiang’i has emerged as a strong presidential contender under the Jubilee Party, with his political activities attracting interest from Kenyans following his entry into the race for the country’s top seat.

Their joint appearance comes amid criticism from Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Secretary General and Senator John Methu, who has described the two leaders as government moles.

During a recent television interview, Methu claimed that he believed Nyoro was a government mole because he formed his own political party instead of joining DCP, as they had allegedly agreed earlier.

Methu also linked Matiang’i to Nyoro, describing the former Interior Cabinet Secretary as Nyoro’s close friend and suggesting that the two shared similar political interests.

However, the claims remain allegations made by Methu and do not, on their own, establish that either leader is working for the government.

The rallies in Oloitokitok and Kimana are expected to provide Nyoro and Matiang’i with an opportunity to address residents, discuss their political plans and communicate their positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
